Extruders are one of the best tools for polymer clay. They help you to make piles of strands of clay in all sizes and shapes. You can ever build a whole design just from extruded clay! See my Extruded Bird Tutorial
BUT the one drawback is that clay will stick to the plunger parts and the inside of the barrel. I don't know about you, but I'm not happy when there are the wrong color clay bits sticking to a new extruded cane.
