A new clock idea taking form in my skectchook with small photos and colorful sheets of clay.

Noodling in the Sketch Book

Every time an idea blooms in my head it gets a chance to come into reality thru my sketchbook. Once I found the little Ivy printer by Cannon, I can take a picture of the 'bones' and print it on a 2"x3" sticky back card that I can trim and attach to a page. It's almost as much fun making the card as it is drawing!

But the real work begins when I sketch out the idea and get personal with it. It helps me to "feel" the structure and design with colors, lines, shapes and spaces. This is the place where I will consider options to add or reject.

Playing with the idea for a while lets me make the most of my materials and avoid wasting them. Without this process I see way too many creatives moan that the idea just didn't work out. Why? They didn't 'test' it  before starting to work. It's ok to have an idea but reject it once you get started, but sketchbooks and small photos and color charts move you ahead faster.

What will happen to this project?

I still have a few technical issues to work on, but I'm happy so far with what I've been able to 'invision' for it.

Keep following to find out how it all comes together!

In the meantime check out a few of the clocks already in the shop….especially those for springtime! DECOR
