Drilling small, clean holes to match your stringing medium in craft work is never a chore with this set of drill bits! The 20pc twist drills are the smallest ones available and will make holes that are the right size for very small cords and wires. Why make a hole that is too big that allows the bead to wobble on the stringing material? Start small and enlarge as needed.
Showing sizes that are said to be wire gauges on the back of the packaging these do not represent the range of wires commonly used in jewelry making. You will have to match the bit to your wires/threads.
However the largest drill bit will drill a 1mm hole. They get smaller from there and certainly would be great for small threads if you are sewing or stringing on fine materials.
??????How do you hold onto these really small drill bits to use them?
These require a very small collet (bit holder) in a handle. This size is hard to find. So my answer has been to embed the bit into a handle made of polymer clay. I keep a set of these on my bench with my most commonly used bits. I Also discovered after using that making the clay handle with a flat bottom allows the bits to stand up so they are easy to find and use!
