Jewelers and crafters working with metal sheet or parts ALWAYS need to have a pair of metal snips that really cut well. NEVER use your wire cutters to cut anything other than wire.
These Jewelers Snips surprised even me! The cutting blades are short but easy to use for small pieces of metal. My trial with them showed me that they performed very well cutting a 16g copper sheet with solder on it!
It does however leave a ridged pattern on one side of the cut because one blade is ridged®. I find this a nice design feature, but if you do not you would want to be sure that you cut with that blade on the excess metal, not the side you want to use. OR you can file that ridge down and burnish smooth.

Note: Tool may need some clean up from manufacturing oils and debri. A dry cloth and a light sandpaper will remove it. Tool blades are coated in black powder coated paint to protect the metal which may chip off in use. This does not effect the functioning of the tool.
