This statement necklace has a palette of rich autumn colors from the fossilized stone to the deep copper braided necklace cord.
Each part was hand crafted beginning with the 1/5" gemstone set in a fine silver backing held by a sweep of silver leaf-like tendrils from the floor of the forest. The silver forest above was fashioned with my special syringe work technique.
On the back of the setting the phrase "Listen to the Silence" is hand stamped into the silver clay before firing.
Rings on each side of the back plate offer a place for the kumihimo braided wire cord - all handmade. The silver cord caps end with small forged hooks which attach to the rings. This enables the necklace to be unhooked from the front instead of behind the neck.
The overall length of the necklace is 22" with an additional 1.5" width pendant. the height of the pendant is aprox 1.5".
Care: Made of fine silver it has been purposely antiqued to deepen the contrast of the colors. Light and careful polishing with the sample polishing cloth is advised to retain the glow of the silver. Do not use liquid cleaners on this gem! the braid should be carefully coiled and stored so it is not crushed.
