Light yet substantial, this polymer clay necklace is a swirl of color that reminds me of the sea shells I always picked up as a child.
A special technique used to create a veneer, then carefully sliced to expose the swirling color, the backing is a solid base. The curved surface is hand sanded and polished to a high shine.
The textured back is concave to hide the shaped bale which accommodates the hand braided wire. The kumihimo braiding technique produces a colorful complement to the focal piece. The braid is capped by brass end caps and a hand forged hook with a string of rings caped with a sand dollar brass charm making the necklace adjustable in length.
The range of colors makes this necklace go with any color or style top. It's a real knockout!

Each part is handmade and cannot be duplicated. The braid is sturdy but great care should be taken with storage so as not to crush the open weave. A lite rub of a polishing cloth will clean up the brass parts should that be needed.
