Description
Gathering shells is a favorite pastime when visiting the ocean. Tiny shells aren’t easy to make into jewelry. BUT creating molds from replicas of small shells gave me the idea to use them to make earrings depicting my collections!
To make these, fine silver clay – 99.999% silver – was pressed into the molds, dried and then fired in a ceramic kiln. The process is reminiscent of having a campfire on the beach when I was younger.
The result is one of a kind earrings on sterling silver hooks accented with stones – specifically hematite beads.
These one inch long earrings are a show stopper for any season on the water!
Great Lakes or oceans, or here, there is always a treasure to be found.
